How does the Sale work?

I have a brand new shop, so when I enable New Products, this plugin works automatically. But I cannot find any actual instructions about how to designate a product as being on sale. Is a new check box supposed to appear on the Product edit page?
I have looked through the Products page and the Product Edit page and I can’t find anywhere to designate a product as on sale.
Does this mean that there is a conflict with the plugin? Thanks in advance.
