How does the Post Parent setting work?
-
Hi,
First, thank you for making this plugin!
It works great for the pages on our site, but inserts the word /category/ in the breadcrumb links on our posts, like this: : https://www.ibiology.org/category/ibioeducation
We have researched a lot the previous threads, and it seems that this is the way your plugin is supposed to work. This makes sense because we have the same problem when we use the standard WP breadcrumbs.
The problem is that it doesn’t work at all for our site to have most of the post breadcrumb links working this way.
We have a huge site, with lots of categories and subcategories, and we would love it for the post links to go to pages, the way the breadcrumbs on the pages do.
We see that you have talked about using Post Parent setting on your Post Types tab, and we did try installing both the “Types” (for CTP and taxonomies) and “Custom Post Type Tree” (we think, for Post Parent) plugins, but since this is the first time we are using CTP it is all complex and not working.
The Question:
Can you briefly summarize the steps we need to take to make our post breadcrumbs link to certain pages using your Post Parent option? Meaning, how do we assign a page to be the parent of a particular post? Thanks SO much for your help,
Yolanda and Lobsang
PS: We marked our previous question as Resolved since we wanted to revise it.
