    Hi all,

how does NGG the image’s orientation handle?

Background: I use NGG to display galleries and fotos that I include via simple shells-
and mysqlscripts, which flood the fotos into the database. This runs quite well, besides the orientation.

(If I open the same fotos under Windows or Mint, the orientation is perfect.)

I think I have to take e. g. the orientation-Exif-Tag (?) and transfer it to the database. But where?

    Any comments?

    Kind regards,

    CJC

@caiusjuliuscaesar – NextGEN Gallery will read the appropriate EXIT / IPTC meta data if available and use that although depending on the pre-upload processing of the images that specific detail for the orientation may not get written “correctly” and will revert to the original orientation of the device the image was captured with (most all of this is outside the scope of the plugin).

As to specifically setting the EXIF tag within NextGEN Gallery, there is no particular field in the database used as that information is maintained within the image itself once under NextGEN Gallery’s management. I would suggest looking to the pre-upload process to insure the images are correctly having their orientation information set and retained.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
