How does Mailpoet know my email password?

    I installed Mailpoet in my WordPress, for the very first time. I sent a test email to see if it works. Perfect. Then, I see on the Settings page that Mailpoet automatically filled in both my email user name AND my password! How is this possible?

    Could it be that I once, many years ago, tried another newsletter plugin and filled the email settings in back then?

  • If you installed previous, that would be possible the same table was used.

    Most likely I would think that it populated itself from Admin>Settings>General>Email Address.

    Yes, looks like an Autocomplete feature from your Browser. We don’t store any passwords.
