How does iThemes Security enforce SSL for the dashboard?

  • One of the plugins on our WP installation uses an is_ssl check before loading external scripts (e.g. Google Maps API) for its settings pages. Since we have not set the url to https under general settings the plugin thinks the site is running under http even though we have iThemes Security set to enforce SSL for the dashboard. How does your plugin enforce SSL for the admin pages and is there a way another plugin can check for this before loading external scripts?
