    Hi,

can you explain how feed caching time works?

    1. As far as I understand it, the feed will auto-update its content in the time set. However, what happens when a feed has new content available before that? Will it also auto-update? I have several feeds with 12hour cache time but they are being updated much much earlier. I tested this with several feeds.

    2. Furthermore, in the following link says https://docs.themeisle.com/article/1155-feedzy-troubleshooting-guide and I quote “The feeds are automatically checked by the plugin every 60 minutes”.

What does this mean? That even if I set a feed with a 12hour cache time the plugin will still check for new articles every 60 minutes and then will decided to fetch them or not?

    3. When I manually reload feed, will it always fetch the latest available articles from the source regardless of the feed caching time set?

    Regards,

    Chris

  • Hi @chrisv234,

    Thanks for choosing Feedzy!

The caching time refers to the interval of time that Feedzy waits before checking for new items in the feed and updating the displayed articles. By default, it is set to 60 minutes, so every 60 minutes the plugin checks the feed and imports new posts if there are any new posts. You can change the caching time to a custom value, so the feed will be updated at your desired interval of time. As for the case when you manually reload the feed or run the import job, it will fetch the items available in the feed at that moment.

    Have a nice day!
