How does FedEx shipping plugin combine size of items?

  • I have some items that are fairly large and trying to determine how the shipping works with multiple items. I have tried 1, 2, and 4 of several items and it is clear they are combined as the multiple items are only slightly more with fedex while USPS just gives 2 and 4 times the individual shipping as if each is shipped individually. Multiple items may be able to be nested to reduce box and shipping cost but if this is a minor amount it will just be a slight windfall for the seller. I understand fedex has minimum weights per volume but wondering how the multiple dimensions are combined before being handed off to fedex for shipping amount. I can try a bunch of combinations to try and figure it out but if someone can just tell me that would be MUCH easier and more accurate.

    My understanding is there is only one plug in that does FedEx, but there may be others for other shopping cart plugins. If there are other FedEx plugins I would like to know.

    I am using the e-commerce shopping cart ver 3.8.8.5. Gold cart for e-commerce ver 2.9.7. FedEx for e-commerce ver 1.5.5. All from getshopped.org.

    Is the support area for their particular plugin.

    Each plugin has it’s own area, accessible from the plugins page – by using that, the plugin developers can see your request specifically.

    When you post here, they get no indication that you are requesting support – your post is far less likely to be seen by the right people,.

    As far as addons go, we can’t support them here at all if they are premium/commercial/paid-for

    I’m not sure if the fed-ex one is comemrcial or not, I can’t find it here on www.remarpro.com

    But, the getshopped folks have their own support forums for paying customers – the help is likely to be much more specific over there
