I have the same issue. The theme may be causing the issue.

Checkmarks appear as plain bullets on https://glutenfreeworks.com. They look like checkmarks on the editor.

Same plugins are activated.

The Callouts, Higlights and Buttons work perfectly.

Any ideas?

Hi,
this is conflict with the theme; the theme’s stylesheet sets the element’s display as ‘block’ which disables the list-style-image property. Add this bit to your stylesheet to reverse that:
ul.cp_check li { display: list-item; }

I added the code to the end of my style.css page.

Now both the checkmark and original editor page bullet appear.

Hi,
the bullet is a background-image applied on the li elements. You have to override the background in your stylesheet to remove it.
