• I feel really stupid for having to ask this … but HOW do you run the upgrade.php?

I have put in the address of my subdomain at Startlogic and the file path I use in my ftp transfers.

    ce.startlogic.com/public_html/WordPress/wp-admin/upgrade.php

I get ‘page cannot be displayed’. My WordPress installation is new as Startlogic have just moved me to a new platform and just upgraded to WP 2.3.2 so I have no personal content on there yet, so I figured this would be a good time to do the next upgrade to 2.3.3 that the admin area is telling me to do. I have transfered all the updated files over, just don’t know what to do next. I have read and reread all the instructions.

I’d appreciate some help, what with the host server upgrade and then the WP upgrade, while I’m still new at this, my head is spinning.

  • TRy leaving out the public_html = just go for the URL that your visitors use to get to the home page – (I’m guessing it’s ce.startlogic.com/WordPress) – then the wp-admin/upgrade.php bit

public_html is in the server path, not in the URL! So, follow Emma’s advice.

Thank you both for responding. I have done as you said and it worked, saying everything was up to date and no upgrade required. However my admin area still asks me to upgrade. I have refreshed but no difference.
