    Hi

I have a couple of thousand posts on my blog and want to delete them all but dont want to delete each one individually as this would take forever.I can’t see a way of doing this within wordpress where I can delete them all at once.

I know there is a way of doing this, and it may require going though cpanel although I am not sure.

if there is a way of mass deleting posts in wordpress please let me know how.

If I have to do it another way I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me step by step how to do if it is difficult.

    Thanks

    Stephen

Why not deleting the whole WP installation and afterwards reinstall?

Yes I had thought of that but I want to keep some of the posts and not delete them all.

    WordPress Suicide
Delete all your blog posts in one fell swoop. You can also use it to delete your categories, comments, links, and custom fields, as well as users and blog settings.

    Will this work? Good luck!

I’ve actually used this program (Win version) to access my dB on my desktop and delete mass posts. You can to click a check box for each post you want to delete, but it works.

    The Community Edition is free.

WordPress Suicide was a great tool for me- I run a local copy of WordPress using WOS Portable for testing/experimenting, at the moment I am working on migrating a Joomla-Wordpress site to a regular WordPress site and I imported a heap’o RSS to see what it what it would look like. When I was done it took like 2 seconds to clean up the mess.

    Thanks for the great plugin!

But he doesn’t want to delete ALL his posts. Only MOST of them.

Unless you can do this in phpmyadmin it would prolly need a custom built script in php but yes it can be done. Not easily its true.
