I’ve had to delete a couple of comments from one visitor to my blog due to its inappropriate nature. It wasn’t offensive enough to be caught by Akismet and SK2, but still goes against my philosophy of being cordial to one another.

Should future offenses occur, I was wondering what are my options to prevent this particular visitor from making future comments.

If I mark his comment as spam, will Akismet and SK2 block that user or just trash that one comment?

  • Both will “learn” (in their own respective ways) each time you mark ’em as spam.

    Thanks, HandySolo! ??

Also, don’t forget about the Options > Discussion Options > Comment Moderation route.. Put in the field for “specific” words only that person is using, and or has in “his/her” name..

For: “When a comment contains any of these words in its content, name, URL, e-mail, or IP, it will be held in the moderation queue. One word or IP per line. It will match inside words, so “press” will match “WordPress”.”

This might help as well.. Also, I use the CJD Spam Nuke plugin. Anything marked as “SPAM” .. can be mass deleted via MANAGE > SPAM section in Control panel.. good luck! ??
