• Hi,

I have had trouble finding a plugin or script that allows music uploaded through the WP uploader to play in the post. Right now, after I upload it, it just produces a link which you need to click on twice before it takes you to a quicktime player. I want it to be able to play in the post with one click of a play button. anyone have any ideas?

    thanks.

  • This is a great plugin solution for playing audio. It’s customizable, flash based, and very, very reliable. ( It has been for me.) Check it out and see if it might fit into your expectations.

thanks that looks like a good plugin. Is there anyway to get it so when I upload an .mp3 using the WP uploader, that it automatically fetches that URL and applies the [audio] tags?

Or I just need a way my blog editors can grab the .mp3 url without having to go into my backend (cPanel) to view the file.

I’m not sure you can do it automatically using the media uploader unless you do not use the year/month structure. I think you may need to know the full url to the file if you don’t take advantage of the audio path setup page in the plugins options pages. But yes, it can pull from a path automatically as long as the files always go to that directory when uploaded. I place all of mine in a directory named audio using ftp instead of letting them fall in the uploads folder. Then use that as the default player path so that all I need to place in a post is [audio:file_name.mp3] and the player shows up automatically.

There’s some good info on the player and its usage located here: https://wpaudioplayer.com/usage
