• I am trying to edit the source code because there is a part that is not being displayed correctly and I want to change some text I can’t seem to change with the page editors.. now let me be clear, I do NOT want to edit my THEME code and edit my whole site, also if I click on the text editor, that is not what I want either as nothing shows up there.. What I want is when you right click on the page, and you click “view source code” and it has that huge page full of the entire HTML coding for that PAGE, THAT is what I want to edit.. there has to be a way right? because that would be very stupid if you couldn’t.. and I need to edit it. Please help, thanks!

I’m in the admin panel but I don’t know where the .php files are located I don’t see them anywhere

Unless you’re already a coder and know what you’re doing, customizing individual pages can be a nightmare. I would recommend Headway Themes for customizing individual pages. It’s all drag and drop and you can make every single page totally custom.

PS – I do not work for Headway Themes.

well I know what I need to do it’s pretty simple things, for this page basically just add a line break and change a couple words. I know enough about HTML and coding to be able to do what I need to, I just need to know where to go to edit theme. There has been a few other times I wanted to edit a page code too.

Which theme is it and where did you get it? It’ll help identify what you need to do with that info.

You really shouldn’t edit the theme files directly as you’ll lose all of your work when the theme is updated. Creating and activating a child theme really is the safe way to go.

I see that this was never resolved. I stumbled upon this post searching for the answer to the same question. I want to edit the code for a page, and have searched and search for where the page files are located. I do not want to edit the theme just a particular page. Using the theme editor or child themes are to general and not helpful for specific changes. I think the ability to edit the page code is reasonable. To do so requires knowing where the page files are saved. Can anyone answer that question?

@rickmcewan, Sorry that’s not the same question. You can continue your thread on your issue.
