    Hi ya,
    Event Manager newbie here.

I’m very puzzled about how to get a custom attribute to show up in a booking page.

I want to add a custom drop down about food requirements to a booking page for an event.

I’ve put this into the custom attributes box in EventManager>Settings>General

    #_FOODREQUIREMENTS{Food Requirements}{None|Vegetarian|Vegan}

This option does not appear in the Event page that I’ve created.

In the Attributes section of the Event I created it has this line:
    ———-
In order to use attributes, you must define some in your templates, otherwise they’ll never show. Go to Events > Settings > General to add attribute placeholders.
    ———–
But as far as I can see, I’ve done that.

In other pages I’ve found, it talks about perhaps changing templates?

Does that mean that we need manually change the plugin templates?

There is a section with page sections in HTML, but surely if I change that, this attribute will appear on EVERY event that gets created. Even though this attribute is just needed for this event…

Thanks for any help or being pointed to the right pages.

    Cheers,
    Norman

  • Hi Norman,

You need to use #_ATT{Food Requirements}{None|Vegetarian|Vegan}, etc. as the placeholder.

Switching to that should fix everything ??

Thanks for that. I was misunderstanding the usage. Ooops.

So now if I’m editing the event, that attribute turns up in the editing section.

But I still don’t understand how to make it appear on the Event page so that users can select an option when booking.

The attribute doesn’t appear in the custom fields section of the event editor.

The instructions and tutorials don’t seem to provide a step by step. They appear to make large leaps in logic and don’t actually state exactly how to add an attribute per event.

I’m very glad to be pointed at a tutorial / help page of course.

    Thanks for any insight,
    Norm
