Hi all, I’ve got my first legit pingback (or is it a trackback?) on this blog entry:

    https://www.derekbeck.com/1775/info/british-christmas/

But I get the notification as a comment, and moreover, it is flagged as spam at first. (I’ve approved it and it now appears on the above link as a comment.)

I’ve seen on some blogs that these ping/trackbacks are auto collected under a link above the comments that says something like “2 pingbacks”, but I think I saw this as a feature on blogger.

    1) Is there some way to make this happen on wordpress (self-hosted site)?

    2) Is there some way to disable the Akismet spam on ping/trackbacks?

    Thanks,
    Derek

I’ve discovered that my theme, the Atahualpa Theme, offers an option to strip these off the comments and list them below the comments, but it took some customization to get it the way I want. Go to the link above to see the final result. The customizations, applicable specifically to the Atahualpa Theme, are listed in detail at https://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=6585

I’m still trying to figure out how to disable Akismet’s spam blocking on trackbacks though… any ideas?
