How do layout choices in 2011 theme affect page templates?

I’m using 2011 as a base for a child theme and am caught in a simple thought loop I cannot seem to escape. I am using the one column layout primarily in my site, but I have one page that I want to use a two column layout on. I set the one column layout in the theme options, but I cannot figure out how to set my unique page to a different layout. Any help?
