How do I work on other people's wordpress sites?

  • Hello I have been using WordPress.com for quite some time to manage my personal blog, and I am now trying to break into freelancing WordPress work on freelancer.com . I was wondering how exactly I set my account up to where I can make widgets and alter other peoples’ sites? I use XAMPP and I have migrated my .com site to the .org side of things, so I am aware of how to use a browser as a localhost. I just can’t wrap my mind around how to use this software to help people with THEIR existing sites.

    You have to have them create an admin user account on THEIR site and log into their sites using their installed WordPress instance.
