how do I verify my blogging site for google webmaster

I have recently launched my website and would like it to be picked up on all the search engines – for which I need my website verified. I tried to install a verify google webmaster plugin but it warned me that it had not been tested against the latest version of wordpress.

I then installed Google xml site map plugin but it warned me since I have Yoast SEO installed I should not installed the Google one.

So my simple question is how do I verify my website to get it picked up by the search engines – in a simple way. Thanks for your help.
