How do I use images WITHOUT text on the sidebar linklist?

I’m trying to make my linklist more interesting by using icon images for the various links. But when I add them on the links page, the text always appears under them. When I delete the title, wordpress seems to add the URL so that there is always image AND text for each link.

Isn’t there a way to do it without a text widget for each link?
