    Hi Mark,

Thanks for contacting me. The API key is required only if you want that the plugin uses Google Maps Embed API for showing the map – there’s no need for you to implement an API. You just need to give the address which location you want to show inside {google_map} tags.

    Best regards,

I understand that one way to use the plugin is to just enter the address, but I need to use the API because I want to embed the map with integrated directions.

Please explain how to use the Google API with your plugin.

    Thanks

My plugin supports use of address and coordinates, but unfortunately integrated directions are not supported.

Then you need to remove references to the Google Maps API from your plugin. Under “Embed Google Map Settings”, “Google Map Versions” you have this: “The plugin supports Google Maps, Google Maps Classic and Google Maps Embed API.”

I need to embed a map with directions and this is one reason I chose your plugin.

My plugin uses Google Maps Embed API, but it does not support all the features of the API. Supported features are listed in the description section and directions are not included in the listing.

I’m sorry that you’ve got a wrong idea about the supported features.

    Best regards,
    Petteri
