How do I upload photos?

  • My photos are in various places. I try to copy and paste them in to my text, but it won’t “paste.” I have some in my Paint program, but those won’t copy and paste either. I try to press the “add media” button, but those won’t transfer either. Where do I have to put photos in order to put them in to the text of the article I do?
    My computer won’t let me! Any advice is fine.

    I uploaded my photos from a Dynex card-reader. How can I control where they are uploaded to on my computer? They were uploaded to a place where my computer can’t read them. Surprise!

    You need to upload photos to your WP site using the media uploader. Then when they are in the media library – you can put them in your site.

    How do I upload them to my site, as opposed to just letting the card reader upload them

    to where it wants to put them? I just don’t understand how it all works. I’m not an expert.

    When I click on Insert Media, the photos don’t work. I just get a big white box with a red X in the middle of it.

    How do I control where my card reader uploads files to on my computer?

    I don’t know how your card reader works – that isn’t related to WordPress.

    If insert media does not work, try deactivating your plugins and switching to the twentytwelve theme to see if any plugins or your theme is causing problems.

    To deactivate plugins – go to the plugins screen and click deactivate for any active plugins.

    I don’t know how to do any of this: “try deactivating your pluginsand switching to the twentytwelve theme to see if any plugins or your theme is causing problems.” I’m not an expert. Is there any way you could guide me step-by-step? I would greatly appreciate it.

    Start with that – the theme you want to find and activate is twentytwelve.

    Okay, I did that. Of course, I need to get rid of that theme when I’m done: I don’t want a theme. My website looked fine the way it was. ??

    What is the best way to reduce the size of a photo before I insert it in the media gallery? If I reduce it in the Paint program, I’ll never find it.

    I was able to reduce the first photo and it uploaded. I think I used the Paint program, but if i put the photo in to the right place, it was by accident. I don’t know how to take reduced photos from the Paint program and upload them. ??

    How do I change the theme back to what it originally was? I think I know now how to find the photos and upload them. ??

    Just find your theme (go to Appearance > Themes to see all of the themes you have installed) and then click activate for that one that you want.

    There are 5 themes there, but I don’t want any of them. My website
