  • Do you have FTP access to your site? If you don’t, then talk to your webhost.

    Hello

Okay, first you need an FTP program. I recommend FileZilla, it is free and easy to use.

Then you need to define your site in there by adding the ftp address username and password.

Then browse to wp-content/themes and upload the entire theme folder to this location. Next you login to your WP dashboard and click the presentation tab and select the new theme.

    Thats it! ??

Sorry if I covered stuff you already knew. If on the other hand you still need more help, please post again. ??

    A good read:

You upload themes to your /wp-content/themes folder.

And if this FTP business is complete gobbledegook, it’s simply a way of transferring files from your computer to the server (which is just another computer). It stands for File Transfer Protocol.

Thanks for the help. I believe I have it completed. Stay tuned, as I probably will need more support from you as I continue to build my site.

    Ol’ Eagle Eyes

I am using a WordPress site in 1and1. I am using it as the news page from my main website. The problem is that it looks comletely different from the rest of my site.
The 1and1 templates are very basic and don’t include anything similar to the look of my site. Is there anything i can do to make it feel more a part of the site? Any templates I could use?

Yes there are a ton of WP themes available for use, but you can even use the exact template that your main site uses, you just have to make a WP theme for it.

I selected a theme from the WP site, and downloaded the folder to my desktop. Then I uploaded the folder to the directory. Now what? I’m still seeing Kubrick. I uploaded Freedom Black.

Click on the theme you want to use via the Presentation tab.
