How do I turn off user avatars completely?

  • In the before installing Ultimate Member, I’ve already turned off the avatar feature in Settings > Discussion > Avatars

    However, after I installed Ultimate Member, I notice that the plugin overrides my initial settings and reactivates the avatar feature. Even when I uncheck “Show Avatars” and save my changes. It reverts back to being checked off.

    I’ve tried searching online on how to turn off avatars for Ultimate Member, but I’ve had no luck with it.

  • Hi,

    Under Ultimate Member -> Settings -> Users, do you have “Use Gravatars?” set to no? Just one thing to check if you haven’t already done so.

    Hi Rob,

    Yes, I have. However, that only disables Gravatars from being uses when I want to turn off and avatars completely. Right now, I just have default avatar when there isn’t one set on the account page:

    It looks like there is no native way through the settings to disable avatars completely without having to use a custom function.
