How do I test credit card transactions in Woocommerce
-
Hi everyone
I’m fairly new to building websites in WordPress. I have recently set up a website for a client that uses the Divi Builder and Woocommerce. Several of the customers appear to have issues with the credit card option via a plugin that processes credit card transactions through Square.
Some ultimately are successful, pointing to user error, whilst others decide to use PayPal. For some reason, I can’t seem to get feedback on their experience so I want to set up a testing regime that enables me to got through the process and see if there are any issues (sometimes a plug-in update will cause a conflict).
Firstly, I copied the site to a staging server so that I can test and make the necessary changes.
I then set up a Square Developer Sandbox to run the tests through. This is also where they provide a test Visa card that I can use. I also did a quick test in the Square sandbox on the credit card option and it appeared to work fine.Thirdly, I went into Woocommerce>Settings>Payments and switched on the Test Mode option. The double checked the APIexperts for Square for Woocommerce plugin to switch on the test mode option as well.
So everything appears to be in place. However, I expected to see a checkbox for a test transaction. Plus when I used the test card it didn’t work.
Ultimately, I just want to know how to setup a test regime for this and future clients.
Is there any advice or is there a link to a step through process I can follow?Rgrds
