How do I take an entire WP site offline? i.e. where’s the “off” switch?

    I have a site that I want to make unviewable to the public for a while but I don’t want to delete anything or anything like that. I just want to “turn off” the dynamic stuff that makes the blog work. Is there an “off” switch somewhere that I’m missing? Since it’s all dynamic I’d imagine that such a thing is possible.
