How do i stop this from slowing my site down?

    I’m guessing this will load a huge amount of IP addresses in the htaccess file causing the site to take a lot longer to load?

    I need to block all traffic from America. Thanks

    Hi

    No it is a WordPress plugin and does not do anything with htaccess. It does not slow your site down noticably

    What source do you recommend for blocking USA. And how often do I need to update this source? Or does this plugin do this.. and should i only update the plugin? Thanks

    Hi,

    You need to download the MaxMind database. For now this is the GeoIP lite database. Soon GeoIP2 database will be supported then you should download that one. It’s updated once a month so you have to update it once a month manually as I was not allowed by WordPress to include an auto download function.

    If you do not want to update manually you can also get an GeoIP API key at https://geoip.webence.nl/ in that case you use my servers for the ip lookup.
