how do i show pictures of each post in the index page?

    Hi,

    What i am looking to do is something like this…

    in the index page each post has one main pic with 3 pics below it. when you click one of the pics it will go to the post itself with all the pics there.

    could someone please tell me how do to this? is it something to do with custom fields and sorting out the index.php to display them?

    if someone could point me in the right direction, maybe a tutorial or any info i would be REALLY REALLY GRATEFUL!

    i think it’s a great idea and one which i would like to use on a lot of websites. how is it done?

    It is a great idea. Unfortunately, it can take quite a bit of coding to achieve. I suggest you find a theme that displays images close to what you want and dig through the code to see how it was done.

    The Codex has some rather outdated material on attachments. There may be other sources that I did not find.

    @vtxyzzy : i have read your code (and haven’t test it yet ). it seem great idea to make custom display of attachments. i also read your TODO, good luck with that ??
