• I made a little HTML site so that i can put that up whenever I have to take the wordpress site down for maintenance (which happens to be tomorrow :s)

    You know,

We’re currently undergoing maintenance; in the meantime look at this: [content]

    type stuff.

However, though I’ve built HTML sites on my computer for fun, I’ve never actually set up an HTML website online.

I already know how to redirect from my wordpress site to a different page or address, but I have no idea how to upload this HTML file and have it work!

I tried uploading the file via FTP to the same folder where all the wordpress stuff is, and copying the address to the file, but it just send me to my wordpress site with 404 error.

So, how do I upload this “backup” HTML website for those cases when I have to shut the main site down temporarily?
