    Hi,

I understand that with Jetpack I can allow the users who post comments to my blog to be notified when someone replies to that comment by checking the “Show a ‘follow comments’ option in the comment form” option in Dashboard->Settings->Discussions->Jetpack Subscriptions Settings

I have received complaints from users that they were not notified when their comments received the replies because the have forgotten to check that optoin at the time when they were writing a comment on the blog post. Can you please advise how can I have this check box checked by default for the user that is leaving a comment?

    Thank you,

    Dmitry

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Jetpack doesn’t offer that option. Readers will need to opt in to receive the subscription confirmation email. Forcing them to take action to not receive an email could be seen by your readers as a very aggressive way to promote your site.

If you would like to implement this anyway, you should be able to customize the behaviour of the checkbox with JavaScript, via a functionality plugin.

    I hope this helps.
