• Hi!

I don’t like the < p >-tag. I feel like I have more control just using the < br > tag. I’ve tried replacing the p-tag but it just won’t go away… Do I need a plugin to fix this? I’m using the 2.0 version and I’m quite new to this.

Thanks in advance for all and any helpful suggestions!

  • refering to tags in posts?
Have you considered turning off the wisiwig editor and just manually placing the tags you want, or alternatively using the button that shows you the editable html?
There’s some detail in the Docs but I’m getting a 500Server eror. Can you be a bit more specific about what you are after?

Ah, sorry. ?? I’m refering to writing posts. When hitting enter I get the code for < p > when I’d really want the < br > tag. When changing it in the editable HTML it still goes back to the p-tag. Does that make more sense?

I’m also quite new to WordPress, but it looks to me like you’ll have to accept at least one set of <p></p> tags, between them you should be able to use <br /> to your heart’s content ( as long as you don’t create empty lines with the enter key) – assuming you have a good reason for it… it may be considered bad form – not sure if it will affect search engines at all – but I suppose may be neccesary for e.g. poetry lay-out. Hope this helps.

I guess it is considered bad form but I have never ever liked the < p >-tag. Looks like it might be time to start though… ?? Thank you very much for your input!

    pleasure – goodluck.
