How do I remove my email address from the post?

Ok, I just figured out that the name is part of the WordPress profile. However, if you hover the link, it is easy to see the email address of my account. If I don’t want that to show, how do I remove it? I want my blogs to post as published by my name, but not with a hyperlink.

I have a solution, but some quick info on what’s happening first:

In WordPress, the “username” is permanent and you can set a “display name” in the profile menu to show across the site instead. The URL you’re referring to is the author archive where all posts by that author are displayed. Unfortunately, that URL cannot be changed to hide your email b/c it needs to use the username which cannot be changed.

The workaround is to create a new admin account with a new username. Then you can login as that new admin and delete the old account. The only additional step will be setting your new account as the author of the posts. Here’s a quick video of how that can be done in bulk: https://pics.competethemes.com/lXpI

And once again I figured it out! Following your link to the video, it occurred to me that I didn’t have to create a new user in WordPress, just on my website. I created a user with a fake email address and voila! Problem solved perfectly. Thanks!
