• I accidentaly used the wrong wordpress.com account to connect to this. Now I can’t remove the connection. How do I do that?

Why did you make this so impossibly hard to do? Are you intentionally trying to piss off your user base? My agency builds hundreds of websites a year and we’re just about fed up with this plugin. It always is unstable and setting it up was always a nightmare. But this…this is just the absolute worst experience!

My dear developers, when you create a button called “Disconnect from all accounts” it should actually disconnect from ALL ACCOUNTS not just from Google Ads & Google Merchant.

Right so I eventually found the way to do it and the process is just…well..unnecessarily complicated (I’m doing my best to use civil words).

So if you want to disconnect wordpress.com account from this plugin you can’t do it from the actual plugin. No no..you have to:

    1. Install Jetpack plugin (Jetpack – WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth) – yes, you need to do it, only way to disconnect. Why would you need to install an additional plugin to disconnect from Jetpack? I don’t know, ask the developers.
    2. Go to Jetpack >> Dashboard
    3. Look for the Connections sections >> Site connection
    4. Click on Manage and a pop-up will appear
    5. Click on the red disconnect button

Now when you restart the setup process, you will be able to connect to a different wordpress.com account.

Apparently the plugin uses Jetpack services to connect to wordpress.com and that’s why you need to disconnect from Jetpack even if you never installed that plugin.

The plugin authors have mentioned a guide to disconnect from Jetpack but it covers only the scenario where you already had Jetpack installed: https://jetpack.com/support/disconnect-jetpack-sites/#remove-active-site

To the developers: why, for the love of God, would you not make disconnection from Jetpack built in your plugin? When someone clicks disconnect from all accounts it should do just that!

You are causing A LOT of unnecessary frustratiation in your users.

    Hey there @mehiusrex ,
Simply disabling the plugin will disconnect Jetpack/ WordPress.com connection provided you don’t have another plugin ( e.g.:- Jetpack) connected with the same account. Enabling the extension would prompt you to connect to WordPress.com and authorise it again.

You can disconnect and reconnect all other accounts from the debug page available at
/wp-admin/admin.php?page=connection-test-admin-page on your store. Documentation on this connection issues can be found here.
