How do I register a domain name on godaddy.com to my wordpress?

This might seem silly but I am trying to register a domain name on godaddy.com but I don’t know how to sync it with my wordpress. Can anyone help me with this? Godaddy requests a nameserver if we are hosting elsewhere. I don’t know much about any of this… Is wordpress hosting my site or do I need to register for hosting on godaddy? If wordpress is hosting my site, where can i find the nameserver information? Thanks
