How do I recover a deleted page?

  • I don’t know how I did it but I blew away the Home page – how do I get it back?

  • Was your home page a custom page? Or just your posts?

    If it was a custom page, it may be in the trash bin in your pages menu

    If it was your posts, do you have posts page set as your front page in settings->reading?

    The home page only called the main template.

    The template is still called but the text is gone and I get the ‘oops not found’ message.

    I can recreate it easily but what should it be called?

    home.php
    home.html
    index.html
    index.php?

    Do you have any posts? Your home page is normally your posts…. if you have none, you get the oops message usually

    Or if you had a static page, same thing…. did you delete a page that was set as your static front page?

    To start, I’d say make a post and see what happens…..

    I created a page called Home and I can view the page but it’s not associated with the Home tab.

    It must have the wrong name?
