I’m running my RSS feed through Feedburner, of course, showing the latest 35 posts (under WP’s Reading settings). I was working fine, but I want to increase my RSS feed to show the latest 100 posts so some of my media files don’t disappear from iTunes as quickly. However, feedburner wasn’t updating, so I logged into my Feedburner account and tried to “Edit feed details” and save it again hoping to force it to refresh, but it just spits out this message every time:

“An error occurred connecting to the URL: Read timed out”

So I deactivated the Feedsmith plugin and sure enough my original WP RSS feed times out every time.

How can I have a WP feed that shows 100 points without having it time out? It also times out with 50 posts and now it even times out with my original setting of 35 points.

Been working on this a bit more. My RSS feed works fine when I have 10 or less items in it, but it times out with anything more than that.

Here’s the URL to the RSS feed:

How can I show more than 10 items without having it time out?

I’m still having trouble with this. No matter what I try, my feed times out if it has more than 10 items in it. Any suggestions?

I checked with my webhost’s support and they tried a couple things, but none of it worked. They said it must be an issue with the CMS. I didn’t have this issue with WP 2.7 when I had 35 items displayed in the feed, so it must be from 2.7.1.

Still looking for any feedback or input. Thanks!

Turns out it’s a problem with the “Yet another related post” plugin. Deactivate the RSS option in the plugin and it’s working again now.

Thanks so much for posting your solution. Turns out that was the same problem for me this week.

I am receiving this error message too: An error occurred connecting to the URL: Read timed out

So you are saying it maybe one of my WordPress Plugins messing with Feedburner? So I need to deactive all the plugins then make changes to my Feedburner account then go reactive my plugins?

I don’t have the “Yet another related post” plugin and haven’t a clue which plugin I do have active that may be causing this trouble.
