How do I: Post from Main Page

I’ve got WP 2.x+ running and it runs smooth. However, users complain that they cannot post form the main page…they are required to go to the admin dashboard to post…is there a way to have a link on the main page that allows a person to click that link and then post?

I’ve tried dashbar and while it does work, it doesn’t fit well on my site and I know very little php.
