How do I move from multisite to singlesite?

When I installed wordpress it did a multisite install by default.

I’m guessing you used a 1 click installer? I’ve not seen one that does multisite by default — it shouldn’t. If you’re not comfortable with editing configuration files and digging around in the database I’d suggest using export / import.

I wasn’t comfortable editing the php file. I did an export, reinstalled wordpress and then imported. Theme was totally screwed up (which is another reason for reinstall aside from multisite issue).

I deleted theme files from wp-content directory and left just the 2014 theme, but still no formatting!

Is there anything in the imported file that can have caused this? I don’t want to lose the pages I created if avoidable…..
