How do I mass transfer my posts from Uncategorized to a Category?

  • I’ve tried Bulk Rename/Merge Categories WordPress Plugin, but after merging, the posts under Uncategorized are still Uncategorized, and nothing has been added into my new Category.

  • If the posts have no other category you should be able to change the default category in SETTINGS > WRITE to the new category you want them to be in then delete the Uncategorized category, which should move all the previosly ‘uncategorized’ posts into the nwe category.

    If they already have other categories read this tread, unfortunately no solution for 2.7 yet.

    in 2.7.1 go to Categories and edit
