• Hi,
I recently got locked out of my wp-admin because I changed the settings of a plugin called WP Better Security to require an SSL certificate to log in.

I googled my host, 1&1 and it said they were SSL certified. I didn’t realise it didn’t come with my package.

I’ve now bought an SSL certificate but I still can’t get in.

How do I FTP into my site and manually deactivate the plugin?

I have downloaded filezilla ready to go?

    Help please

  • Have you tried just deleting the plugin folder in wp-contents>plugins?

You need to fill in FTP username, FTP password, etc. in FileZilla login form. You can get these from your host. Login to your hosting account and collect the info needed for FileZilla to work.

    Hi Cynnie 88,

I haven’t tried that yet. I can’t gain access via the admin login and don’t know how to FTP into my host using filezilla.

My friend helped me with all the technical set up of my site, I just manage content really.

Do you know how to FTP into 1&1?

    Thanks
