How do I make thumbnail differend from ‘banner picture’ in a post?

    I would like a sharp thumbnail that sends you to a post. And a sharp banner picture when you are in a post (like the swan in my link). Where do I set the dimensions of these to apart? Becaus on my website, the banner image is very streched out becaus I use the dimensions of the thumbnail.
