how do i make this advanced search twentyfourteen default search replacement?

As a standalone this worked fine for me. I have many plugins and have not yet witnessed any issues. However, in twentyfourteen them you have a built in button for searching at top menu (the magnifying glass). How do we replace standard search code with this widget? otherwise users will accidentally use the wrong search, and then won’t find tagged posts as standard search does not include that type of search criteria.
