How do I know if my site uses cookies?

As you can tell from the question, I am a noob when it comes to web development.
I am trying to get ready for the GDPR, but I don’t even know if my site uses cookies.

What I am trying to understand is: Are cookies something I actively add myself as a functionality, or do plugins do that freely if they need them? Can it happen that I install plugin xyz and then my page automatically uses cookies?
And if that’s the case, do they also ever add this “we use cookies, please accept” banner, or is that always my own job?

Yes, WP uses cookies. Plugins may add their own.

Thank you for clarifying that. Do you also know if it is enough to disclose ALL cookies with only ONE notification? Or are there different types of cookies that require their very own disclosure?

I have no idea. I’m not really following GDPR stuff as non of my clients have any presence in the EU.

Are you sure your answer is correct? I ran cookie-checker.com and it didn’t find any cookies.
