• Hi there, I’m looking for a way to integrate the reading time in my post meta data. I would like the reading time to show up right next to both ?author? and ?date? meta data (see my website). It mustn’t be that complicated but I can’t find any documentation about it. Thanks a lot for your help.

    Right now the best way to do that would be to call echo do_shortcode( [rt_reading_time label=”Reading Time:” postfix=”minutes”] ); in your theme files in the same location as the other meta data. That information being displayed is entirely controlled by the theme and there isn’t a standard way to hook into all themes meta data from the plugin side of things.

    Yes, that’s what I’ve been trying to do but I’m not sure whether this type of code works with my theme and/or where to copy-paste it. Please find my code below.

    <article id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>" <?php post_class(); ?>>

    	<?php integer_entry_meta_before_title(); ?>

    	<header class="entry-header">

    		<?php the_title( '<h1 class="entry-title">', '</h1>' ); ?>

    	</header><!-- .entry-header -->

    	<?php integer_entry_meta_before_content(); ?>

    	<?php integer_post_thumbnail(); ?>

    	<div class="entry-content">

    		<?php the_content(); ?>

    		<?php
    			wp_link_pages(
    				array(
    					'before' => '<div class="page-links">' . __( 'Pages:', 'integer' ),
    					'after' => '</div>',
    				)
    			);
    		?>

    	</div>

    	<?php integer_entry_footer_widgets(); ?>

    	<?php integer_entry_meta_after_content(); ?>

    </article>

    Thanks for your help.

    You’d likely need to implement it within the ‘integer_entry_meta_before_content’ function.
