How do I install Newsgator.com feeds ?

  • Hi,

    I have just set up a weblog but using WordPress through a Lycos hosting package.

    Any help in how I go about this would be appreciated.

    My concern also is that it seems I may not be able to incorporate Newsgator into the pages when it seems there is limited way of modifying WordPress in Lycos?

    I’d suggest reading through the codex, this link will give you a good starting point.
    WordPress does have built in file editing capabilities, and you have ftp access with lycos, no? If so, you should be able to edit files with a text editor and upload them to your theme folder.
    I’m not familiar with newsgator, so someone else will have to chime in on how that’s added in.

    What do you mean by adding newsgator?
    Do you want to add rss feeds?

    Hi,

    Yes we wants to allow Newsgator to publish some of its content on the site, but am not sure how I go about incorporating this latest news into WordPress (the opening page).

    Any thoughts?

    I see. So you want use the XMLRPC interface of WordPress. Search for XMLRPC on this site. Configure Newsgator to use “Movable Type” or “Blogger” API. Point it to https://yoursite/xmlrpc.php
