How do I import old posts into a brand new installation?

  • Somehow I hosed up my blog when I did the simple script upgrade from 2.8.6 to 2.9.2.
    Now I just want to start fresh and pull over the old posts so I can keep it moving.

    What folder do my old posts reside in and can I just move them via FTP?

  • Your old posts are in your database. Did you manage to carry out the database upgrade without any errors during the unsuccessful upgrade?

    Yes. The upgrade was successful In that I was able to access it for a brief time after that and there were no errors.

    You could try re-uploading the all files and folders from a fresh download of WordPress.
