• I have 3 wordpress blogs, and the old version did not have this huge margin above paypal buttons. This new version 3.4.1 leaves huge margins above paypal buttons (and maybe other things, I’m not sure). It looks bad and I can’t format the look of my page the way I want it because of this problem. Any tips? Or can wordpress release a new version which doesn’t have this problem.

  • What’s the Theme name and live URL where the PayPal button is located?

    Thanks,

    Hi Emil, I realized that it is the new version of wordpress 3.4.1. I have 3 blogs, and 2 of them had the new version installed and those ones had huge margins above the paypal buttons. The one that had the old version of wordpress did not have a huge margin above my paypal buttons. Then I installed the new version on that blog, and now the margins are big above my paypal buttons on that one.

    Could it still be my theme that is the problem? It was fine before I installed the new version of wordpress.

    It’s hard to say without looking at the actual site. What’s the Theme name and did you customize this Theme in any way prior to 3.4.1 upgrade?

    Here is a link to where there are 2 paypal buttons: https://blogandretire.com/coaching/

    You will see that there is a huge margin above them (and there are not spaces between the words above it in html mode).

    The theme is tweaker4, and yes I did customize some of the code.

    your actual paypal code seems to have linebreak (<br> or <br />) tags at the end of each line;
    double-check this using the html setting of the page editor.

    That was the problem. Each line of the PayPal code was on a separate line. I closed all the gaps and now there is no margin at the top! Thank you!

    However, I’m still confused as to why this only happened on the new version of wordpress. Did they change the way things are formatted in html mode? Because I always had my paypal buttons like that before and never had a problem.

    Thanks alchymyth! You Rock!
