• Hello,
Being a complete novice means the fun starts to fade…..

I have installed a plugin, here are the installation instructions which I have followed and activated in my plugin directory.

Download the above file and uncompress
Upload dd-multi-col-cats.php to your plugins directory
Upload dd-multi-col-cats.css to your theme directory
Activate the plugin from the WordPress admin panel
Configure the options under the admin panel: Options – DDMultiColCats
    Usage
To use this plugin, simply add the following trigger text to a post or page:
    <!– multicolcats –>

    this is from Dagon Design.

Anyway, I have no idea how to get it to work, it is activated in my plugin directory so I am assuming it has installed proporly.

I saved the code into a page and I see this:
    A

    Anti Aging Categories
    B

    Best Foods To Eat

Is the page to be just saved or plublished?

I have uninstalled and installed twice just in case something did not install proporly but the same thing has happened.

Really appreciate someone’s help, I am having the most trouble and I have asked for paid help at wp-pro and have had no reply, I even asked for the services of the people from where I downloaded the plugin from as they offer their services and have heard nothing there either.

Am I doomed to forever spend my days in the forum asking for help, yet never able to give it.

    Kind regards

  • I’m sure things aren’t as bleak as they seem ?? Sometimes it takes a while for people to reply!

I’ve not used the plugin myself, but if the page is displaying correctly for you after you’ve published the post, then I’m going to automatically assume that the plugin has been installed correctly?

    thanks for your reply,
I think I need to play around some more, I really am in the dark here and I know the light will shine through soon.

I had a quick look on the plugin page, and it seems that it does list categories alphabetically and there is the option of excluding categories as well. Good luck!
