How do I get one post and its comments on a single page?

I am having trouble getting one post and the related comments on a single page. Whenever I click on the title of the post the correct permalink is placed in the URL but only the comments appear and the content of the post is gone. From an SEO perspective its important to get the URI and post content together on a single page.

Is there a way to get a post on a single page, with the XYZ post slug in the URI and the content and comments on the same page? Thanks.
