• I have just upgraded to WordPress 3.9.1 and the latest version of the Twenty Eleven Theme

I copied and saved my CSS and my Header PFP to my notepad before installation and then copied them back to the the upgraded version.

Now my site has gone missing. How do I recover it.

This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying.

Try checking your site’s error logs for a more specific error message. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.

My host was down for a week or so and I was out of town and didn’t find out until my site was gone. Is there a way to get it back online?

Try manually resetting your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
