How do I get help (and I am not being a wiseguy)

  • I am sure that this question my come across as sarcastic, but it’s not. I have posted a question 5 or 6 times on these boards, over a period of two months, and I just can’t get the issue resolved.

    I’m just at the point that I need to talk to a human being, or at least email back and forth wtih a human being. Is this possible, or should I simply post the same question over and over until somebody answers it.

    I can only say, maybe no-one knows the answer? Ask it here. If I can help I will as I’m looking for help myself on something so will be around fo a while.

    If you require answers to questions then the alternative to simply waiting for a response is to employ someone to help..

    You also say you’ve posted 5 – 6 questions, yet only 2 threads appear under your account, and this is one of them. I was looking at the threads to see if there’s anything in particular that may constitute a lack of reply, but obviously i couldn’t…

    So i suppose the question now is, what’s the other account you’re referring to that had non-replied to topics?

    But arent there anybody how work in wordpress? Is there “just” members who answer the questions we have??

    Thats not good suport…

    Support is provided by the users of the software, that’s how open source software operates for the most part…

    It work’s how i’d expect a free and open source project would…

    Thanks for the response. In terms of why my history only shows two questions: I changed my name. I was starting to think that my name was similar to somebody else who was unpopular here or something…the few response I received were insulting and did not address my question (did not even try).

    Here is my problem: I have a blog with two and only two accounts (Jack and Admin). I am both people, and I occassionally log in as either of them. Well, if I want to look at my blog stats, it makes me enter my name and password again – and then tell me that they are invalid. But, they were valid 15 seconds prior? So, there is an option to have your name and password sent to your email account…but when I enter my email account, it tells me that it has no record of such an email accounts.

    It’s very frustrating…I log in with a proper name and password…but then once I am in, it immediately tells me the name and password are invalid, but won’t accept my email to tell me what it considers an appropriate name and password. Argh!

    So are you saying you have a problem with passwords on your install of WordPress?

    If necessary there are other methods for resetting passwords, for whatever reason.

    Also if this a repeat problem, have you tested from another web browser, and also from another PC. We could easily assume that neither are the problem, but i’d still suggest testing anyway, to simply rule them out..

    Jack, have you tried if the problem isn’t the stats plugin? Does the same happen when you deactivate (or delete) it?
